Always searching for the barebone truth, Nadia Caterina collects inspiration as she travels the wilds of West Virginia and all over the world from Mexico to China to New Zealand and more. These journeys, which she calls her collection walks, are usually initiated through meditation and guided by the natural world.
Nadia explores nature’s beauty in her art, incorporating bones, flowers, natural textiles, ceramics, and bronze. Her work began with balancing bones and feathers from hanging mobiles, making dozens of these teetering ecological homages at her woodland cottage. She is fascinated by ecological life cycles: seed, birth, blossom, decomposition, and rebirth. Her work displays nature’s stories of these cycles and the delicate balance between life and renewal.

Personal
My name is Nadia Pinna and has found her home in the Appalachian mountains 20 years ago. Ever since I moved here I have been inspired by the abundance of life and thick nature surrounding my home.
I am an intuitive mixed-media artist working primarily in natural fibers like wool, cotton, bones, plant material, bronze, and clay. In these materials I produce tapestries, ceramics and mobiles. I generally work through an idea using all of these mediums, for example, my vegetable themes can be found both in ceramic, bronze, and textile form.
I am fascinated by ecological life cycles; seed, birth, blossom, decomposition, and re-birth. My work displays nature’s stories of this cycle and the delicate balance between life and renewal. I hope that these simple yet beautiful shapes of the natural world around us will encourage others to slow down and see the beauty that is at our feet.

Nadia’s work has evolved into bronze, ceramics, textiles, and explorations of the lives she encounters on her farm. She hopes that these simple yet beautiful shapes of the natural world around us will encourage others to slow down and see the wonders all around us.
Nadia has shown her work in gallery exhibitions in Thomas, Fayetteville, Tamarack, and Morgantown over the past ten years. She had produced art in China, Peru, and the United States. In 2026 she attended and graduated from Maximo Laura’s textile workshop in the Sacred Valley in Peru.
